A kitty is born on snowy night in Sweden

A kitty is born on snowy night in Sweden

Winter in Sweden can feel endless.

The days grow short, the sky turns pale, and snow quietly covers the world in white silence. Life slows down. Colors fade. Everything feels a little more still… a little more ordinary.

But sometimes, in the middle of a long winter day, something magical happens.

A small ray of sunlight slips through the window. It reflects on the wall, flickering softly — here for only a few seconds before it disappears again.

In Swedish, we call this “Solkatt.”

Literally, it means “sun cat.” It describes those tiny, dancing reflections of sunlight that appear indoors during winter — playful, warm, and fleeting, like a little cat made of light.

As a child, I loved chasing those lights across the walls and floors. They felt alive. They felt warm. They felt like happiness visiting, even on the coldest day.

That feeling never left me.

The Long Road to This Moment

Creating clothing has never been easy — a style and an audience both take time to grow.

I began designing in 2016, starting with simple sketches. From there came pattern making, sample sewing, fabric sourcing, adjusting details over and over again. I always hoped to create pieces that felt cute, comfortable, and made with care — clothing that could bring a soft kind of joy to everyday life.

But original design is not always immediately understood.

Production costs were high. Time was limited. While running a buyer’s store and supporting other independent designers, I had to pause the dream of building a full brand of my own. For many years, I could only release one original design each anniversary — a small, quiet step forward.

It looked like a pause from the outside.

But inside, the dream was still alive.

During those years, I worked closely with designers, fabric suppliers, and production teams. I learned how garments are truly built — not just creatively, but technically. I learned about fit, structure, materials, and the countless invisible decisions behind a well-made piece. Slowly, I gained experience, confidence, and clarity.

And somewhere along the way, I realized:

I wasn’t waiting anymore.

I was becoming ready.

A Little Sun-Kissed Kitty in Winter

This is how Silly Solkatt was born.

Like a tiny sun reflection in a long Nordic winter, this brand is my way of bringing warmth, softness, and playful light into ordinary life.

Life can feel serious. We are busy being adults. We rush, we plan, we carry responsibilities every day.

But inside many of us still lives a softer self — the girl who loved ribbons, gentle colors, vintage romance, and small beautiful details. The one who could feel happiness from something as simple as a beam of light on the wall.

Silly Solkatt is for her.

Just wearable, everyday pieces that carry a quiet sparkle — like sunlight that visits for a moment and makes the whole room warmer and sweeter.
